The Magic of Sequencing
Discover how to structure your practice and classes for flexibility, relaxation, and integration.
The effect of any pose is directly related to the pose that came before. That’s called sequencing.
But what pose should come before? How do you structure your home practice and classes for flexibility, relaxation, and integration?
We hear conflicting rules about sequencing. Like you should always practice the same sequence each time. Or you need to warm up before you practice certain poses. And what about counterposes?
We’re not interested in teaching you new rules. Instead this course contains principles. You’ll come away feeling empowered to design your own sequences to match the body you actually brought to the mat today.
If you teach, you’ll be able to modify a sequence in the moment to help the student who is standing in front of you right now.
How can you sequence poses to increase flexibility in yourself or your students?
How can you end a sequence feeling deeply relaxed? Not exhausted, but truly relaxed.
And what does integration feel like? How can you leave that imprint in your nervous system after a practice?
Confidence and understanding.
The material in this course gives you the confidence to design sequences that keep you and your students safe and engaged. This comes from deeply understanding the principles of sequencing.
I enjoyed the course and learned new sequencing principles. It was rich in detail and well worth it.

This course is structured over 12 weeks. Each week contains principles, practice, and integration videos.
We start with the single pose groups: standing poses, backbends, twists, and forward bends.
We then spend two weeks on inversions before shifting to two weeks on the macro sequencing of home practice and classes.
Finally, the last three weeks are dedicated to sequencing Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, and Savasana.
The advantage of digital learning is that you can go at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.
You will have access to the course for three years from the day you enroll. That way you can relax and feel spacious with the self-paced material.
Judith Hanson Lasater, PhD is a physical therapist who began teaching yoga in 1972. She received her senior teaching certificate directly from BKS Iyengar.
Through her decades-long dedication to daily home practice, Judith has a deep appreciation for the power of sequencing to respond to the phases and challenges of real life.
Author of 11 books, Judith is a mom of three, and grandma of ten. She lives in San Francisco with her partner.
Lizzie is Judith’s daughter and a life-long student of yoga.
As a working mom of four-year-old twin boys, she understands the importance of optimizing her home practice for tuning and downshifting her nervous system.
Raised in San Francisco, Lizzie began teaching Vinyasa Yoga in 2004 before studying Architecture at Columbia University in New York City. She lives in Salzburg with her Austrian husband.
We offer a 95% refund policy. Just email us within one week of enrolling, and we can reverse the charge (minus third party credit card fees) back onto your credit card. No questions asked.
